Súria and Cardona, the Salt County

In the Middle Ages, salt was gold. The salt mines in Cardona had been exploited since the Roman times, but in the medieval times they became strategic for the local economy. The Count of Cardona controlled the business, and not far, his servant the Lord of Súria would help protecting the commercial roads.
Nowadays, both towns keep charming medieval old towns, and the Cardona Castle and the amazing Salt Mine are open to the public.
